Maria Quinteros, 57, was struck by a SUV heading eastbound on East-West Highway near Riggs Road around 9 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, according to the Prince George's Police Department.
Police arrived to find Quinteros in the roadway and she was subsequently transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the SUV remained on scene and did not report any injuries.
Quinteros was getting out of work when she was tragically hit. Her family is trying to raise funds to send her body back to her native El Salvador, according to a GoFundMe her granddaughter created.
